Green Day put on a great show in D.C. last night. The energy was electric at the beginning of the show with a great performance of the newest album title track 21st century breakdown. The energy kept up almost through the entire show. My dad said he enjoyed, and we both agreed that the sound was as good as it gets. Probably the best sound ever for a inside event i have ever heard. They had great shenanigans with a pink drunk bunny, t-shirt guns, toilet paper sprayers, confetti, and lots more. The fan participation was decent, but would have been awful if not for the fans brought on stage to sing and play guitar. There were some really good performances by fans. I sat in the second deck but it was a quality viewing area. I really enjoyed the acoustic performance of Christie Road, and the loud fire filled Brain stew. All the songs were good. I could have done without the covers of shout / I' ll be there / and earth angel when the band all laid down to play. It was little to long and could have been filled with a few more of their hits. Other than that it was a really good show. Billie Joe is a great show man. Probably in the top three out there right now. Green day sure rocked the roof of the Verizon Center last night! Great job by the whole band.
